"OOOOOO. Aaaaahhh," my children sing, because we are the Habitat for Humanity thrift store with our donation of gently used clothing drive. Twinkling lights draped houses like lace, and the figures of Santa, his reindeer and the light scattered trees in front yards. Some roads appear to have been moved from New York or Las Vegas, have so many lights, but Florida has somehow compensate for the lack of snow.
The December holidays are upon us and give rise to a number of occasions,Rituals and events, depending on your culture and family traditions. I thought it was a perfect time to cover this kind of poetry, and forms of poetry.
Occasional Poetry
More than a poetic genre "as a poetic form, document the occasion occasion poems. While they are often written on special occasions such as weddings and births, can be cooked well to win a race or cookies with her grandmother.
BRIEF HISTORY
As long as there are opportunities, there have beenbeen occasional poems. Whenever you find in the history of written language and a culture of literature, you will probably find someone who wrote a poem about an opportunity.
REQUIREMENTS
- Write about the opportunity that is.

- Any form (or any other particular form), just follow the rules of form, if you use one.
- Each rhyme (rhyming or not), unless a form is used, then follow the rhyme scheme for this form.
- Each meter (or noinstrument is set), unless a form is used, then follow the count for this form is required.
Length can be long or short -. However, if you use a module, the module can determine the length.
Ritual Poetry
At first glance, it seems that ritual a poem as a poem could be occasional. We all have certain things that we do every morning and evening, have a ritual character. A poem is actually very spiritual ritual, a way to connect with your God
BRIEF HISTORY
As thePoetry on the occasion mentioned, the ritual is as old as poetry, sacred rituals, and can be found in many places.
REQUIREMENTS
There are two versions of the ritual poetry. It 'easy to say, the ritual, a spiritual element or a holy place. The second is as a list of instructions for the ritual. The teacher and writer Manual of poetic forms is a great modern example of this type of poetry, and a list of instructions. It is here that excerpt:
Inspired by real eclipse, aStudent wrote this ritual poetry:
Eclipse Ritual
1 Turn off the lights and give everyone of paper moons.
2 Mock your face is the sun and the moon set before him.
3 Say Dark Dark and close your eyes.
Eclipse Eclipse Eclipse Eclipse Say 4.
5 Then, wearing dark clothing.
Here are some things to remember when writing this kind of ritual poetry:
1 Decide what you would like to occur.
2 Examine all aspects ofsubject.
3 Think of action, to illustrate some of these problems.
4 Write down every action, as a command.
5 Number of commands.

As you can see the previous example, it is not necessary to write a religious ritual, if you want, but you want a moment to convey a spiritual sense can choose.
Poetry Event
The event is another form of poetryPoetry, which is a numeric entry. In the poem ritual contains a ritual of some sort. But an event of poetry is not an event.
BRIEF HISTORY
"Event Poems were written at the end of 1950, while the art form as" happenings. "In fact, it might be an event corresponding to a poem written that the Happening" (Padgett 74) are seen. Events played without plots, where crazy things happen. The event takes an ordinary object and poetry lists of weird things to do andit.
REQUIREMENTS
- An object to write.
- Start-lines with verbs. None of the verb be (is, are, are what have been, etc..) Only action here!
- At least three lines.
- Nothing that you would normally with or object in the poem.
Example from my favorite book of poetic forms:
Pineapple Poetry Event
1 Cut the pineapple in half and take the two halves like earmuffs on a cold winter day.
2 Pull the skin from sticking to the 100 and pineappleAs the floor.
Five pellets of 3 Round Cut pineapple skin and sew buttons on the jacket as.
4 Check the pineapple. It seems that the torch of the Statue of Liberty.
5 Feel the pineapple. It feels like a suede shoes at the foot of a very large baby.

REQUIREMENTS MAY or What is the poet of choice in all this?
- Any object.
- Any length that is longer than 3 lines.
- Rhyme or not (although most do not).

Try it with this type of poetry as a way of creative thinking, or a great way to beat writer's block practice.
